The Bible in Stereo

Samuel L. Jackson, the actor from Pulp Fiction and Snakes on a Plane, famously narrated the Christian Bible on CD. Not to be outdone, the Jewish Publication Society recently released an audio version of the Jewish Bible–and you can listen to each week’s Torah portion for free on the Audio Bible Player.

Narrators such as Theodore Bikel (Fiddler on the Roof) and Tovah Feldshuh supply the vocal talent. As for the story, well, it’s the greatest story ever told. Anyone can click here to listen to this week’s Torah portion–or, if you have a blog, you can actually embed the player as a part of your website.

Like the Torah itself, the Audio Bible player automatically advances each week to the next portion. So, when the saga of the Torah moves on, you will, too.
